Being a proud recipient of the DIST-FIST grant and DBT ‘Star College Scheme’ status, the
Institute of Home Economics is in the process of establishing a state-of-the-art central lab
facility equipped high-end research facilities. The central lab will be equipped with facilities
and equipment such as such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC),
Refrigerated centrifuge, UV-Visible spectrophotometer, Deep freezer and a Distillation plant
to name a few.
Besides providing exposure to the under-graduate students to the realms of research under the
able guidance of the faculty, the central lab would be accessible to post-graduate students and
research scholars to conduct their research work. The central lab facility would also help in
carrying out inter-disciplinary research in collaboration with other institutions and industry
thus providing an opportunity to the research scholars for application based research as a part
of self-reliant India and enable faculty and students to showcase their work at national/
international forums.
