The Equal Opportunity Cell was established by the University of Delhi on 27th June, 2006 to
address the issues related to students belonging to Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe, Other
Backward Caste and minorities and the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) on a continual
basis.
Inculcating respect for diversity within the college has always been an endeavour of the
Institute of Home Economics. To put this into action, the college has a duly constituted Equal
Opportunity Cell (EOC), the main objective of which is to empower all students
(SC/ST/OBC/minorities and persons with disabilities) to participate fully in the academic,
intellectual, social and cultural life of University on an equal basis. The unit sincerely
attempts to ensure the implementation of policies and programmes issued by the government
for various disadvantaged groups from time to time. Regular guidance and counselling with
respect to academic, financial, social and other matters is provided to the students.
