About the Centre

Centre for Media and Communication

Set up in 2021, by the Department of Development Communication, Extension and Journalism, the Centre aims to foster academic and creative excellence among students in the fields of media and communication. There are five specialized clubs namely Podcasting, Filmmaking, Visual arts, Publicity, and Photography. Each of these focus on the domain specific areas and provide a dynamic platform to the students for skill development in through hands-on projects, programmes such as celebration of cinema day, conduct of film festival, workshops on topics as comic making and photography as well as conducting inter- college competitions. By enhancing the practical knowledge of students, promoting critical thinking and professional growth, the Centre of Media and Communication prepares the students for successful career in various domains of media as well as in Development Communication sectors.

Diet Counselling Center

Initiated in the year 2022, the center is run by the Master’s students of Food and Nutrition who specialize in Clinical Nutrition as well as by PhD scholars of the FNFT department. The center aims to translate theory into practice and provides the clients with ‘Diet Counselling’ services to manage common health conditions such as overweight/obesity, hypertension, diabetes etc. Individualized diet plans and counselling services are provided to the clients based on their weight, height, body fat percentage and medical conditions. In addition to Diet counselling services, the center also organises community outreach programmes such as free health camps in association with Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association (DCWA) Medical centre. The Center is open to students, non-teaching and teaching faculty of the Institute on every Wednesday from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Centre for Sustainability

Department of RMDA started the Center in 2022. The center was initiated with the aim to impart skills and knowledge to students in the area of Environment and Sustainability through diverse initiatives like ‘Creating clean air bubble’ room by controlling ventilation of the demo-room and hands on training programmes on other sustainability concepts enabling green practices like waste paper recycling, monitoring indoor, ambient air quality, upcycling of old waste products into utility items, testing of water quality and testing food products for adulterants. The center also organises field trips and promotes students participation in internships and different national and international conferences on sustainability.
