About the Department
The Science Departments at IHE comprises of three branches of science: Biology, Chemistry
and Physics. These departments play a hinge role in the fundamental development of
interdisciplinary courses such as Home sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry. The departments
have well equipped laboratory attached with an instruments room.
Science constructs new ideas in students which help them in shaping their academic pursuits in long term along with immense opportunities for further studies. The department have a qualified and committed faculty imparting quality education through their experiences. In order to equip the students with various aspects of biological sciences, the curriculum follows multi- disciplinary approach including lectures, practicals, and field studies. The department has well equipped laboratories of Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Besides building the academic knowledge in students, they are encouraged to inculcate scientific temper through various activities including quizzes, poster competitions, workshops and seminars. Our students have been performing remarkably well in all spheres of life. Many students are successful in clearing national level science entrance exams like JNU –Biotechnology, ACBR, IIT-JAM, TIRF etc. We pursue an aim of overall development of a student to meet the future challenges and shape their professional career.

Job Prospects
Immense Job opportunities are present for science students. The students could pursue Master’s
programme in different fields of Biological sciences after completing their graduation. The study
of science courses enable students to branch out in areas as Academicians, Researchers,
Biotechnologists, Environmental activist and related fields.
